Why We Do What We Do
We offer luxury UK holidays designed specifically for people with physical and mental health challenges — and the families, friends and professionals who support them.
We believe respite and leisure shouldn’t feel clinical or institutional. That’s why every Safe Escapes property is created with comfort, dignity and warmth in mind — blending accessibility with style, and peace of mind with a sense of home.

Family Holidays Made for Real Life
If you or someone you care about finds traditional holiday settings difficult or inaccessible, Safe Escapes is here to help.
Our properties are designed to make every member of the family feel comfortable, included, and at ease — no matter their needs.
You can book directly with us, and if you require additional support, we’ll gladly connect you with one of our trusted care partners. Whether it’s a little help during your stay, or 24/7 professional care, we’ll help you find the perfect balance — so your time away is exactly what it should be: relaxing.

Support for Local Authorities & Care Providers
We understand the challenges of finding high-quality, last-minute breaks for the people you support — and we’re here to help.

We are very proud to have secured a Bronze award from Green Tourism, we are now striving for Silver and then onto Gold!
Each of our properties has been hand crafted with environmentally responsible materials that have been sourced locally wherever possible. The wood we use comes from a sustainable forest less than six miles from the site. 95% of the power consumed on site comes from our solar power system and as we move forward to the future we are working to be completely off grid and self-reliant on sustainable forms of energy. All lighting and electric appliance has been through a vigorous energy efficiency assessment and no item with an energy efficiency score below a ‘B’ has been installed. The water that supplies our grounds, flower gardens and vegetable patches comes from a well that was introduced on the site circa 200 years ago and is still going strong. Human waste is treated on site in our biological treatment system, an ecosystem of bacteria breaks everything down into clear, safe water and flows back into the water system, topping up our well.
Wherever possible we have upcycled, recycled and repurposed what we have on site to create amazing spaces for our guests, dead trees have become seating or fence posts and animal waste is used as fertilizer. We encourage all our guests to consider the environment when travelling to and staying with us, if you would like us to provide you with multiuse containers or bags, we are more than happy to do so at no charge. None of the cleaning products our housekeeping team uses are single use and have no bleach or other harmful chemicals in them.
We planted 1,247 trees when creating The Retreat, these were a mixture of Laurel, Oak, Ash and a variety of fruit trees for our orchard, these will contribute significantly towards our goal of being carbon negative by 2030.
There is always more we can do and we will continue to work hard and continue to evaluate how we can be more sustainable as we head towards a greener future, anything you can do to help us would be so appreciated.
